Practice app · ConnectIn
A professional network: a 3-step sign-up wizard, a feed with likes, comments and lazy-loaded posts, a notifications dropdown, a messaging drawer with auto-replies, job search with filters and a multi-step Easy Apply modal, member profiles with connect/withdraw, a skills tag input and company pages that open a careers site in a new tab.
Your starter code already declares TEST_URL — never hardcode a host.
Objective
Send Daniel Okafor a message from the messaging drawer and wait — without fixed sleeps — for his automatic reply to arrive about two seconds later.
Your task
- 1Open TEST_URL (you are already signed in) and click Messaging (#nav-messaging).
- 2In #messaging-drawer, open the conversation with Daniel Okafor ([data-testid="conversation"][data-conversation-id="daniel"]).
- 3Type “Hi Daniel, are you free for a call on Thursday?” into #message-input and click Send (#message-send).
- 4Assert your message appears in #message-thread and #message-input is empty.
- 5Wait for the reply ([data-testid="message"][data-auto-reply="true"]) and assert it says “Thursday works for me! How about 3 pm?” and the typing indicator (#typing-indicator) is gone.
Acceptance criteria
- Your message is in the thread and the input is cleared.
- Daniel's auto-reply is shown.
- The typing indicator has disappeared.
- The test uses no fixed sleeps.
