Wait for asynchronous status

Medium70 pts~20 min
  • Retry-ability
  • Asynchronous UI
Practice app · Order Tracker

Asynchronous UI that appears, changes and disappears on timers — for explicit, implicit and fluent waits.

Test URL
/lab/wait-for-live-status

Your starter code already declares TEST_URL — never hardcode a host.

Objective

Synchronise with a delayed, server-driven order status without fixed waits, then assert the final state.

Your task

  1. 1cy.visit(TEST_URL) is already in the starter.
  2. 2Click #load-status — a spinner appears and the status arrives about 2.5 s later.
  3. 3Assert #spinner eventually disappears.
  4. 4Assert #order-status contains "Shipped" using Cypress retry-ability (a timeout option if needed).

Acceptance criteria

  • The order status reads “Shipped”
  • The spinner is gone
  • No cy.wait(ms)
  • At least 1 assertion passes

Constraints

  • Do not use cy.wait with a number.
