QA Manager

• Lead the QA function. Manage a team responsible for quality across our JavaScript front end, Java back end, and C# booth software
• Own test strategy. Design and evolve a testing strategy spanning manual testing, automated regression, exploratory, security, and performance testing — using AI to help scale coverage appropriate to each stack
• Build and maintain automation. Develop, extend, and maintain automated test suites and CI-integrated pipelines across all three tech stacks
• Evaluate hardware. Own hardware evaluation and qualification for booth components (cameras, printers, payment devices, and other peripherals) as part of the overall quality process
• Configure and maintain test rigs. Build, configure, and maintain physical test rigs used for hardware-in-the-loop and booth software testing
• Track and improve code coverage. Define coverage targets and track them across stacks, working with engineering to close meaningful gaps rather than chasing the raw number
• Champion shift-left practices. Push testing earlier in the development lifecycle — embedding quality checks in code review, CI, and design discussions rather than treating QA as a final gate
• Apply AI to quality work. Identify and implement mechanisms for using AI to increase the productivity, velocity, quality, security, performance, repeatability, and determinism of testing — from test generation to flaky-test triage, security and performance test coverage, to test data management
• Report on quality. Provide visibility into quality metrics, risk areas, and release readiness to engineering and business stakeholders

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years in software quality assurance, with at least 2+ years in a QA leadership or management capacity
• Multi-stack testing experience, ideally demonstrating the ability to ramp quickly across unfamiliar stacks
• Strong automation background, with experience building and maintaining automated test suites and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
• Manual testing discipline, including exploratory testing and structured test case design for complex, hardware-integrated systems
• Hardware testing experience, including evaluating physical devices/peripherals and configuring test rigs for hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Working knowledge of AWS and SQL preferred — comfortable navigating cloud infrastructure and querying relational databases to investigate issues
• Proven AI fluency for quality engineering, with hands-on experience using AI tools and mechanisms to increase testing productivity, velocity, quality, security, performance, repeatability, and determinism — not just familiarity with the concept
• Shift-left mindset, with a track record of moving quality earlier into the development process rather than treating it as a final checkpoint
• People-leadership experience, having managed the time, priorities, and deliverables of a QA team
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate quality risk and test results for both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

• Experience testing embedded or kiosk-style hardware/software systems
• Familiarity with performance and load testing
• Experience with test management tooling (e.g. TestRail, Zephyr)
• Exposure to computer-vision or camera-based system testing
• Prior experience in a hardware + software product company
