Senior Network Test Engineer

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for networking equipment, features, and infrastructure.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot complex multi-vendor networking lab environments that simulate live carrier networks.
• Perform functional, performance, scalability, and reliability testing of carrier-grade routers and switches.
• Validate wireless networking technologies, particularly mmWave and E-band point-to-point solutions.
• Conduct traffic generation, performance measurement, and network analysis using tools such as Ixia/Keysight and OTDR.
• Validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols, including Ethernet, VLANs, IP, MPLS, BGP, and QoS.
• Analyze RF performance parameters, including Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), Bit Error Rate (BER), and Receive Signal Level (RSL).
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, QA, and Operations teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues.
• Document test scenarios, execution results, defects, and test reports.
• Support network qualification activities and ensure solutions meet carrier-grade performance and reliability standards.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in carrier-grade telecom equipment testing and qualification.
• Strong experience testing routers and switches in service provider or telecom environments.
• Hands-on experience with wireless technologies, particularly mmWave and E-band point-to-point technologies.
• Strong understanding of RF performance parameters, including SNR, BER, and RSL.
• Excellent knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols:
• Ethernet and VLANs
• IP Networking
• MPLS
• BGP
• Quality of Service (QoS)
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting large-scale, multi-vendor network environments.
• Hands-on experience with traffic generators and network analyzers such as Ixia/Keysight and OTDR.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications / Nice to Have

• Experience in PON (Passive Optical Network) testing and qualification.
• Working knowledge of ESM, OLT, PON, and ONT testing.
• Proficiency in Python-based test automation using Pytest or similar frameworks.
• Experience with Linux-based test environments and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
• Knowledge of OSS/BSS systems and telecom network operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on network testing professional with deep expertise in carrier-grade telecom equipment, wireless networking, RF performance, and L2/L3 protocols. Experience with Ixia/Keysight traffic generators, mmWave/E-band technologies, and PON testing will be highly valuable.
