Test Engineer

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases to validate software functionality, system performance, and reliability.
• Perform manual and automated testing to identify, document, and troubleshoot software defects.
• Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and testing objectives.
• Use Git and other version control systems to manage test scripts, code changes, and testing-related resources.
• Work with Docker to support test environment setup, configuration, and execution.
• Develop and maintain basic Python scripts to automate testing tasks and streamline repetitive activities.
• Use shell scripting and command-line tools to execute tests, manage files, and troubleshoot system-level issues.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and communicate findings to relevant engineering teams.
• Support continuous testing and quality improvement initiatives throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in software testing, test engineering, quality assurance, or automated testing environments.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
• Fundamental working knowledge of Docker and containerized environments.
• Basic scripting experience with Python.
• Basic knowledge of shell scripting and command-line environments (Linux/Unix preferred).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated QA processes.
• Familiarity with Linux-based testing environments.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration practices.
• Experience testing software integrated with hardware, robotics, or embedded systems.
• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycle (SDLC/STLC).
• Experience with debugging, defect tracking, and test result documentation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Test Engineer with strong software testing fundamentals and practical exposure to automation, Python scripting, Git, Docker, and shell environments. Candidates with experience in robotics, hardware-integrated software testing, embedded systems, or engineering test environments will be highly preferred.

Work Arrangement: This is a fully onsite position in Mountain View, CA. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite five days a week.
