API Automation Tester

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Banking, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in UI and API test automation using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and RestAssured.
• Strong proficiency with Maven (build, dependencies, lifecycle management).
• Experience with cloud‑based cross‑browser testing platforms such as BrowserStack or DigitalAI.
• Demonstrated ability to work with Git workflows (push, pull, merge, fetch, rebase).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey test strategies and plans effectively to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven analytical, debugging and problem‑solving capabilities, and solid test‑planning, organisation and time‑management skills.
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

• Exposure to Serenity BDD (orchestration, reporting, DSLs).
• Hands‑on experience with manual API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitLab.
• Prior involvement in banking or financial services projects.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted testing tools for test‑design or execution.
