Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python, Playwright & Jenkins)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
• Create and enhance Playwright automated test suites covering end-to-end business workflows and cross-browser testing.
• Configure and optimize Jenkins pipelines to support continuous integration and continuous testing practices.
• Partner with software engineers, business analysts, and QA teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze automation execution results and testing metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Apply AI-assisted testing techniques, including intelligent test selection and automated test data generation.
• Develop realistic test data and scenarios supporting Property & Casualty Insurance business processes, including underwriting, policy administration, rating, and claims.
• Investigate complex defects, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with technical teams to drive resolution.
• Mentor team members on automation best practices and quality engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience developing test automation frameworks using Python.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
• Experience configuring and supporting Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and Continuous Testing methodologies.
• Experience testing APIs, microservices, and enterprise-scale applications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
• Property & Casualty Insurance domain experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and automation practices.
• Knowledge of test data management and synthetic data generation.
• Experience mentoring and guiding quality engineering teams.
• Familiarity with Git and modern source control practices.
• Experience working in cloud-based environments.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $53,500 - $92,500 depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
