Job Specification
WCG Clinical supports clinical research organizations and their partners with products and services designed to advance the development of new medical treatments. Through technology, expertise, and operational support, WCG helps research teams conduct clinical trials and manage important processes across the clinical research lifecycle. The company’s work requires dependable systems, thoughtful quality practices, and careful attention to regulatory expectations. WCG values collaboration among technical teams, business partners, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that support the needs of clinical research.
WCG Clinical is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support quality assurance, validation, and delivery for assigned products and systems. In this role, you will help ensure that software functions as intended, meets defined requirements, and is ready for release. You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, applying manual and automated testing approaches to identify issues early and provide clear information to the teams responsible for resolving them.
The position includes developing and maintaining automated tests with Playwright for user interfaces, APIs, and real-time components. You will also help maintain test artifacts and participate in integrating tests into CI/CD workflows. Working closely with Software Engineering, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders, you will support reliable releases while considering product quality and applicable regulatory requirements. The role is suited to a detail-oriented testing professional who can communicate findings clearly and adapt testing activities to changing product needs.
Candidates should have experience in software testing or quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing across the software development lifecycle. Practical experience developing or maintaining automated tests with Playwright is important, particularly for UI and API testing. Familiarity with testing real-time software components is also relevant.
Applicants should be comfortable reviewing requirements, creating and maintaining test cases, documenting results, and reporting defects in a clear, actionable manner. The ability to collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and nontechnical stakeholders is essential. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to product quality are valued. Experience working with CI/CD test integration and an understanding of software validation or regulated environments are beneficial. Candidates should be able to prioritize work, investigate unexpected results, and communicate risks or blockers promptly.
Plan and perform manual and automated testing for assigned products and systems throughout the development lifecycle. Develop, execute, review, and maintain Playwright tests covering user interfaces, APIs, and real-time components. Assess requirements and product changes to determine appropriate test coverage, identify potential gaps, and help ensure that expected behavior is clearly defined.
Maintain accurate test plans, cases, scripts, execution records, and other testing artifacts. Document defects with enough detail to support investigation and resolution, then verify fixes through appropriate retesting and regression testing. Collaborate with Software Engineering, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, discuss quality risks, and coordinate testing activities. Participate in CI/CD test integration to improve the consistency and efficiency of validation during delivery. Support release readiness by communicating test results, outstanding issues, and relevant quality considerations. Follow established processes and contribute to practices that support product quality and regulatory compliance.
WCG Clinical offers the opportunity to contribute to products and systems that support clinical research. Team members work across technical and business functions, building knowledge of software quality, testing automation, and the clinical research environment. Eligible employees may have access to company benefit programs and other employment offerings in accordance with the applicable plan terms, role, and location. Specific benefits and eligibility details are provided during the hiring process.
Equal Opportunity
WCG Clinical is committed to providing equal employment opportunities. Employment decisions are made without discrimination on the basis of characteristics protected by applicable law.
